“Life is about evolving,” she once said in an interview. “I’ve given Bollywood some of the best years of my life, but I also want to explore other things that make me happy.”
Disillusionment with the Film Industry
Preity has not shied away from addressing the more difficult aspects of Bollywood. In the past, she’s voiced concerns over gender bias, lack of strong roles for women beyond a certain age, and the industry's tendency to sideline actresses who choose to step away — even temporarily.

“I haven’t shut the door. I’ve just chosen not to walk through it for now,” she shared in a rare social media Q&A.
